CE conformity
What does this mean for your
operating manuals?
In Germany, the requirements for placing products
in the stream of commerce has been changed since
1st of May 2004. Products are deemed to be:
- Technical materials
(machines, etc.)
- Consumer products
The requirements for products
are regulated by the German Devices and Product
Safety Act [Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz]
(GPSG) and the GPSG regulations (e.g. 9 GPSGV).
The Technical Plant and Equipment
Act (GSG) and the Product Safety Act (ProdSG)
are no longer in force with effect from 1st
of May 2004.
One of the main requirements,
for example, is the CE mark which again can
only be granted if operating manuals complying
with EC regulations are available.
